This weekend, FC Peterborough’s Under 14s were invited to take part in The Greater Game Football Festival at Warwick.
The Greater Game is the FA’s new programme designed to improve the health and well-being of young players across the UK. It focuses on four key pillars:
• Move Well
• Think Well
• Eat Well
• Sleep Well
Alongside some fantastic football on the day, the players learnt valuable lessons about how to improve their game by developing better sleep habits, and understanding the types of food and nutrition that can fuel performance before and after matches.
Given the hot conditions, the team also gained knowledge on hydration, how much water they should be drinking to keep in peak condition.
To round off a brilliant day, the boys brought home an award for demonstrating winning behaviours throughout the festival, a fantastic achievement. Well done to all involved!
FC Peterborough is proud to be one of a small number of flagship clubs leading this important initiative, both locally and nationally.
The goal? To inspire at least one healthier action per week.
Keep an eye out for further updates over the coming weeks.
