Announcing our new management team
FC Peterborough is delighted to announce Lloyd Buchan and Ryan Broughton as the new management team of our Reserves, with Lloyd taking over as Manager and Ryan joining him as Assistant Manager.
The appointments mark the start of an exciting new chapter for the Reserves as the club continues to strengthen the pathway between our youth setup, reserve side and senior football.
The club would first like to place on record its thanks to Ahmed Mustafa, who has managed the Reserve Team for the past few months.
Our Chairman Arif Aziz said:
“Ahmed has done a brilliant job, showing great commitment, professionalism and dedication throughout his time with the team. His contribution to FC Peterborough has been greatly appreciated, and we wish him every success in his new role with another team with FC Peterborough
“The good news is that Ahmed will continue to work with FC Peterborough, so we’re delighted he will still be part of the club.
“I’d also like to give a very warm welcome to Lloyd and Ryan. I’m really excited about this new management team and the direction they can take the Reserves. I wish them every success and look forward to seeing the team continue to develop and progress.”
Lloyd: “It was the opportunity I was really excited about”
New Reserve Team Manager Lloyd revealed that he had received interest from elsewhere, but the opportunity at FC Peterborough immediately stood out.
“I had a few clubs ask if I would be interested in management, but when the opportunity came up to join FC Peterborough, it was the one I was really excited about.
“It’s a well-run club with a really good setup, a strong youth system and a reputation for attracting good players. You can see there’s a real hunger throughout the club to keep progressing and be successful.
“There are some very good coaches and people around the club and it feels like everyone wants to help each other and move in the same direction.
“It’s a great opportunity to be part of a club that wants to grow, develop players and compete. I’m really looking forward to the season ahead and seeing what we can achieve together.”
Ryan: “An opportunity I couldn’t turn down”
Joining Lloyd as Assistant Manager will be Ryan, who is looking forward to gaining further experience within the men’s game.
“Gaining managerial experience within the men’s game has always been a dream of mine, so when Lloyd offered me the opportunity to come in and support him as Assistant Manager at FC Peterborough, it was something I simply couldn’t turn down.
“The support throughout the club and from all the coaches was a huge factor for me. I can’t wait to get started, develop as a coach and hopefully play my part in helping the team and club continue to progress.”
Everyone at FC Peterborough would like to thank Ahmed for everything he has given to the Reserve Team and wish him well in his new role.
And to Lloyd and Ryan, welcome to the Green Army.
A new management team, a new chapter and plenty to look forward to for FC Peterborough Reserves.
