Rain and wind, plenty of both greeted us at Histon. The ground brings back bad memories for one Leeds fan, but could FCP do one better?

The first half offered little from either side, until a major controversy. Joe was brought down but no free kick was given. In the aftermath, a penalty was awarded against FCP.

Alfie made an excellent save, only for the officials to order a retake. The linesman appeared to rule that Alfie’s feet were behind the line, while the referee claimed there had been encroachment. It felt like a robbery, and as if the officials were determined to see FCP concede. Histon scored the retaken penalty.

No decisions went FCP’s way, and that continued after the break. The second half was just as poor, with little happening from either team. The weather was grim, but fans on both sides had hoped for much more. Even David’s return couldn’t get us going.

The one bright spot from the trip? The chips. 9/10.
