Reserves and Development Report
It was a tough afternoon for both sides, but the Reserves and Development teams showed plenty of determination against strong opposition.
Reserves 2–3 Warboys
The Reserves were unlucky to come away without a point after a spirited performance. Ayman missed a sitter, and a header struck the post, while the team went into half-time 2–1 ahead.
The referee had a difficult game, but the performance was a real credit to the players. After losing 4–0 to Warboys in their first meeting of the season, the Reserves showed how much they have improved. With the majority of the side aged 18 or under, there was plenty to be proud of despite the result.
Next week, they go again and look to get back to winning ways.
Stanton 7–0 Devs
Despite the scoreline, the Devs put in another battling performance against a strong Stanton side. They went into half-time 2–0 down, having already been reduced to ten men after a player was sent off for deliberate handball.
The lads kept going, but tiredness and Stanton’s quality proved too much in the end. A special achievement was fielding five 16-year-olds, all of whom were outstanding throughout.
